Three important statewide officers will be chosen by voters on Nov. 5, but the races for Attorney General, Auditor General and Treasurer are being washed off the pages of the state’s newspapers by heavy coverage of the hotly-contested Presidential campaign. Triad Strategies, LLC, commissioned a statewide poll on voter preferences in the three races. As of early October, voters heavily favored Democrat Bob Casey Jr. for State Treasurer over Republican Craige Pepper and Democratic State Sen. Jack Wagner was sitting on a five-point lead over Republican Joe Peters for Auditor General. The race for Attorney General was a virtual dead heat with Republican Tom Corbett showing a three-point lead over Democrat Jim Eisenhower (with a margin of error of 3.7 percent).
Triad Strategies interviewed Survey Director Jim Lee and Triad President Roy Wells for interpretation of the poll numbers.
