As a former state representative and legislative staff member, Jere has a first-hand understanding of how public policy issues move through the legislative process. His perspective helps clients achieve success in and around the legislative arena.
Jere joined Triad in December 2002 as a senior consultant and opened the firm's Lancaster office.
In his 14 years in the House, Jere served on the Appropriations, Health and Human Services, Labor, State Government, and Transportation committees. He was appointed to the State Employees' Retirement System and chaired the Legislative Office for Research Liaison. Additionally, he was chair of the Committee on E-Commerce and Technology of the American Legislative Exchange Council's Telecommunications and Information Technology Task Force.
Before becoming a House member, he was director of senate legislative matters for Bell of Pennsylvania, now Verizon, before serving for 14 years in the House.
He had worked in the House in a variety of positions before that – assistant to the director of research, assistant to the floor leader and assistant to the speaker of the House. He was responsible for daily operations and coordinating legislation with the House, Senate, and the Governor's office. He also served on the board of the Lancaster Community Health Plan.
Jere earned a degree in government from Franklin and Marshall College. Currently, he serves on the boards of the Landis Valley Museum, Lancaster Air Service Task Force and the Susquehanna Valley Center for Public Policy. He and his wife, Marianne, have four children and reside in Lancaster County. |
