Michael J. Acker
Senior Vice President, Corporate Relations

With more than 20 years of federal and state government experience, Mike taps his extensive network of relationships throughout Pennsylvania and Washington to help Triad's business clients avail themselves of sales opportunities, as well as financing options to help them grow. His contacts throughout Pennsylvania's business community give him the ability to open doors for clients across the state.

Mike joined the Ridge administration in 1995 as executive deputy secretary for the Department of Labor & Industry. In that capacity, he functioned as chief operating officer for the Commonwealth's fourth-largest state agency, with more than 6,000 employees and an operating budget of nearly $1 billion.

He had earlier served at L&I from 1980 to 1987 as a deputy secretary in the Thornburgh administration after two years as Philadelphia-area community relations representative for U.S. Senator John Heinz.

Between his stints at L&I, he was manager for corporate marketing for a central Pennsylvania architectural and engineering firm, where he was responsible for market assessment, business strategies, advertising and public relations.

Former Governor Ridge appointed Mike to the board of the Philadelphia Shipyard Development Corporation, the entity charged with overseeing investment in the effort to restore commercial shipbuilding in the United States.

He served on the Presidential Transition Advisory Team on behalf of President Bush in 2000 and was tapped by the Bush-Cheney 2004 Campaign to serve as a Pennsylvania Coalition Leader.

Mike has played a key role in Triad's business development in recent years and is a driving force behind the firm's tremendous growth. Working with other senior members of the firm, Mike has helped Triad's client base grow by more than 300%.

Mike also serves on the board of trustees of the Pennsylvania State Employee Retirement System. He was first appointed to the board by former Governor Schweiker.

An Air Force veteran, Mike has a bachelor's degree from Temple University and a master of public administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
