Tough and focused, but always armed with a ready laugh and infectious smile, Michele joined Team Triad early in 2011, and immediately became a key cog in our governmental relations machine. A true student of transportation, education, social services, procurement and health care, she brings a decade of public policy expertise to the table.
A proficient collaborator, Michele has always been able to bridge an organization's needs and a legislator's agenda, a department's mission, a community's goals or a donor's interests. Her proven ability to multi-task several policy issues in the extremely dynamic field of politics makes her natural fit for Triad.
She is a former Congressional staffer who served as a Special Assistant to former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, with whom she worked on community and economic development issues. Schmidt has also worked with the Pittsburgh Technology Council and GSP Consulting prior to her most recent position, leading the governmental affairs and fundraising activities at Robert Morris University in Allegheny County.
During her four years at Robert Morris, Schmidt represented the university before the Pennsylvania General Assembly and the Congress and also worked on fundraising and grant writing. Schmidt has been very active in charitable and non-profit endeavors, including the United Way and the American Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Days Campaign.
Michele graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Robert Morris University, Moon Township, PA.
